Throughout history the Middle East has been a place of high
tension that has influenced world politics. This book traces the importance and history of the region since the Second World War.
Author Derek Prince was a British Soldier, stationed in the
Middle East at the end of the war. He witnessed first-hand the re-birth of Israel as a nation. This, along with his long history as a Bible scholar, gives the book some legitimacy.
The book begins with a short biography of his life, and the
historical perspective of the region. It goes on to compare Biblical prophecy with historical occurrences in the region. The book goes on to reveal Gods plan for the future.
A decisive topic for the Middle East is Israel. The ongoing conflict between Israel and her neighbours, countless peace accords and intervention from Western nations, and the region remains a smouldering pot of conflict.
This accessible, behind-the-scenes guide immerses you in what the Bible has to say about Israel. Tracing her long, astonishing history, he offers insight into the mounting tension and exposes the destructive enemy now stalking this war-torn land.
This is the third version of this book, having been updated to allow for some new statistics and events particularly involving the impact of Palestine.
I found the book interesting, particularly as it reveals both the Biblical and historical context of events.
I would recommend this book for Biblical students who are interested in prophetic events, and those pursuing a wider world view of events in the recent past and near future.
